It may sound simple in concept and you may have even heard that true leaders are born not made. You may be born with innate leadership qualities but that is not all it takes to be a leader. Leadership is a skill leaders need to constantly nourish through personal development. I am convinced that the great leaders are also active readers and in most cases eventually author their own books. Personal development you might say is key in being or becoming a leader and if you expect success in your business you will need to be a leader at some point.
  1. The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey

If you aspire to be a successful leader in your business the first order of business must be self-improvement. Keep in mind that self-improvement is not something that has an end point or a finish line. It is continuous learning to enhance your leadership skills and keep you sharp and effective in the market place. Success really starts from within and that is where you need to start molding your leadership persona.
A great place to start is by adopting some habits conducive to being an awesome leader in your niche whether it be network marketing or any other online business. In his book “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” Stephen Covey breaks them down into three basic categories. First and foremost “Manage Yourself” which is encompassed within his first 3 habits choice, vision, followed by integrity and execution. In the next category he addresses actual leadership with the next three habits “mutual benefits”, “mutual understanding”, and “creative cooperation”. Finally in the last habit he focuses on unleashing your potential with the habit of “renewal”.

  2. “Mindset; The New Psychology Of Success” by Carol S. Dweck Ph.D.

To be successful in life one thing is paramount and that is the proper mindset. Whether you are a parent, a teacher, or a business leader offline or online having the proper mindset is paramount to your success. I found this book to be intuitive in most cases but learned a lot from the actual case studies discussed on the importance of mindset and how mindset can effect positive or negatives outcomes. Like they often say if you believe you can or you believe you cannot you would be correct in either case. If you have not been successful in your business take some time to check your mindset. Want to learn more about how you can fulfill your full potential you may consider giving this book a good read.
